Tim Vollmer

Tim has devoted his life to photography. Photography has been his long-held hobby and great passion. Tim has always felt himself drawn to the power and beauty he finds in nature. Tim has been leading photo tours and workshops in Iceland and many different countries over the years. He has had the world as his workplace. He is Photographing everything from the dramatic landscape in Iceland, to the native people in the remote corners of the world and the culture that are unique to each country. 

His journeys have taken him around the world in pursuit of memorable travel experiences and the creation of compelling images. His work has been featured in international publications. His images and stories are shared on various internet outlets. As a driven artist, professional, entrepreneur and an adventurer, 

Tim is eager to share his passion, knowledge in photography and travel through the tours he designed on his own, or through his partnership with professional photographers from around the globe. Tim and his family lived 11 years in Iceland. Now they are based in Czech Republic.

9 March – Arrive Addis Ababa

Airport and transfer to your Hotel. The most flights arrive around midnight from 10/11 March so we included one extra night to get rest from traveling. Overnight in Addis Ababa – The Mosaic Hotel

10 March – Addis Ababa

Today we get enough time to wondering around in the town. we can doo street photography and capture the amazing Cathedral. In the evening we start our tour with our welcome dinner. Overnight in Addis Ababa  – The Mosaic Hotel

11 March – Addis Ababa – Arba Minch

Today you will fly to Arba Minch from Addis Ababa Airport departure time will be 1pm in the middle of the day the flight takes 45 minutes, then transfer to your Lodge and overnight in Paradise Lodge where we stay 3 nights.

12 March – Arba Minch – Lake Chamo  –  Arba Minch

Full day Arbaminch to visit Netchsar National park which protects varsities of savannah habitats,(Zebras and gazelles) ranging from the knotted acacia scrub on the bridge of wide scenery. Once across the bridge, there are sweeping views over the plains to majestic volcanic hills on the eastern boundary. After lunch drive for boat ride (5-6 Hours) on Lake chamo to enjoy the most spectacular scenery of lake and see the largest crocodile, species which riches until 6-meter length / Crocodile Market/ of the African continent as well as birds species.  Overnight at the Paradise Lodge.

13 March – Arba Minch – Dorze – Arba Minch

In the morning after breakfast proceed to Dorze, in order to visit the Dorze village who set in the highland above Arba Minch. The Dorze people are known for their tall beehive-like houses and their fine cotton weaving.  You will visit the village and learn about the daily lives of these industrious people. The Dorze people belong to one of the Omotic groups in the South West of Ethiopia. They are a hard working tribe renowned for their skill in weaving, bamboo carpentry and other traditional crafts. Then after the visit continue drive back to Arba Minch. Overnight  at Paradise Lodge.

14 March – Arba Minch – Konso – Jinka

In the morning we will drive to Jinka via konso . The Konso people are known for their wooden statues, known as wakas, which are erected in honor of dead heroes as well as their innovative agricultural terracing You will visit there village for 1- 2 hours. Overnight in Jinka at Eco Omo Lodge.

Monday 15 March – Jinka – Mursi – Jinka

Early In the morning we head to the unique tribe of Mursi ( The women are famous for putting clay made circular lip and ear plates which symbolizes beauty in honor ) crossing through Mago National Park in order to reach their village. We will visit the uninterrupted authentic daily life activities then. After visiting back to Jinka overnight in Jinka at Eco Omo Lodge.

Tuesday 16 March – Jinka – Dimeka – Turmi

Today is a market days in Aliduba  villages which is one of the most colorful markets in the area and is visited by many tribes, including Hamer, Banna and Ari and  Tsemay . Afterwards, continue to  Turmi. Overnight at  Buska Lodge.

Wednesday 17 March – Turmi – Omorate – Turmi

In the morning, take a day trip to Omorate to visit the Dassenech tribe. Here you will cross the Omo River by local boat and enter at Dassenech village. Afterwards back to turmi in the afternoon  we will  go for a visit to a local Hamer village. If there is Jumping of the Bulls traditional Hamer coming-of-age ceremony, that will be visited (optional) Overnight in Buska Lodge.

Thursday 18 March – Turmi – Karo

On this day we will drive to karo  to visit the Karo tribes famous tribes in south Omo zone with their body painting and are ferrous warrior mens. The Karo tribe use red ochre and white chalk to create intricate designs on their faces and bodies and although they live in a world far removed from urban life, its the same for women of the Karo tribe in Ethiopia. Overnight  in  Omo National Park through camping where we will have an excellent cook.with us and a well-organized team with complete and clean camping gears enough for all.

Friday 19 March – Omo Park – Kibish – Surma 

In the morning we drive to Kibish  through Omo National Park as to visit the list visited Surma ( Suri ) tribes accessing them deep in to their villages and this will be an unforgettable experience for any traveller and you as well as your team will love this experience. Overnight through camping in Kibish.

Saturday 20 March – Around Kibish – Surma

In the morning visiting a number of untouched Surma villages where we will make some drive to get to know the tribes morning life activities without any interruption to their normal life but witnessing a wonderful and genuine activities up to their door steps.  Overnight  through camping again in Kibish.

Sunday 21 March – Kibish – Turmi

In the morning we will continue our journey back to Turmi Overnight in Buska Lodge.

Monday 22 March – Turmi – Jinka

After breakfast we will visit the Hamer Village in the morning before we drive back to Jinka you will  have lunch. Then drive to Jinka Airport departure time will be 1pm in the middle of the day the flight takes 1 hour, fly back to Addis Ababa by operator. Overnight in the Mosaic Hotel

Tuesday 23 March – Addis Ababa

Flying home
